The Online Student Readiness Checklist provides guidelines to help students have a positive experience in the online environment.

• Install/update the open source browser (http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/personal.html), the recommended browser for Moodle. Follow these instructions to tune-up the Mozilla Firefox browser (http://www.caspercollege.edu/distance_ed/tuneup.html)
  
  
• Install and update your antivirus program. Moodle4Me and Casper College email will not accept files that are infected with computer viruses. If you don't have antivirus protection, download the free AVG Antivirus (http://download.cnet.com/AVG-Anti-Virus-Free-Edition-2011/3000-2239_4-10320142.html) program. On a weekly basis, update the program to get the latest virus definitions and run a scan
  
  
• Make sure you also are running the latest version of Java (free download from http://www.java.com/en/download/index.jsp), Adobe Flash from: http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/otherversions/ and Adobe Reader from: http://get.adobe.com/reader/otherversions/.
  
  
• If you haven't yet activated your Google student account (http://my.caspercollege.edu), login using your Casper College username/password. You will be receiving important messages from the college at this account.
  
• If you choose, you can Forward MyCC email to another account (http://tinyurl.com/6mj9ldc)

• Install any needed Windows or Mac updates weekly
